Momo 'མོག་མོག'
Eating Habits and Techniques
According to Tibetan tradition, the proper way to eat momo is to first bite a small chunk in the dough and suck out the juice in order to make a hole, which you fill with chili sauce before eating the rest. Interestingly, the Himalayan people use their hands to feed themselves after having washed them properly. Eating by hand is mentioned in history during Lichchhavi dynasty (from 100 to 880 A.D.) in Nepal. However, Tibetans often use bamboo chopsticks like Chinese and use small soup bowls too!
